Tue Mar 2 22:56:57 EST 2021
Join us this Sunday, March 7th from 3-5pm on Zoom via freeskewl!
In this 2-hour workshop, Kate and Meghan will share tools for creative process gleaned from their ongoing duet work; ‘Carnivore.’ Beginning with embodied practice geared to warm-up the interior spaces of the body—especially torso, pelvis and pelvic floor—this workshop will provide participants with guided tools for creating original movement/scores, and explore possible relationships between text, movement, sound, and the body. Participants will be prompted to tailor these experiments to their unique embodied/storied selves. We will make a little something, and watch each other. We will have fun.
Kate Seethaler and Meghan Frederick have been working together in Philadelphia, PA since 2018. Their on-going duet project ‘Carnivore’ researches the imaginative life of the material body. Kate and Meghan are both recent mothers, and pilates instructors, both of which inform their creative process. Kate has performed in works by Kellie Lynch, Joy Davis, Jenn Nugent, Stephanie Maher, Deborah Goffe and Katie Martin, and most recently in the work of Paige Phillips and Annie Wilson. Meghan was a member of the Brian Brooks Moving Company from 2008-2014 and has most recently worked with Megan Bridge/Fidget, Catherine Galasso, and Maya Orchin.
Class is $1-35+ (no one turned away for lack of funds). If you would like to sponsor a person to take class, simply double your payment!
