SIREN SONGS is a documentary/verbatim theater piece focused around the
topic of addiction and substance abuse disorder. In the piece, we follow
the journey of 7 individuals affected by addiction. The goal of SIREN SONGS
is to represent, humanize, and reduce stigma in the midst of the current
Opioid Epidemic. In order to do this, over the past few months, we
interviewed ~50 people (and counting) to which addiction has affected their
lives, ala. child of an addiction, parent of an addict, spouse of an
addict, those currently suffering, and those in recovery. From those
interviews, we are currently editing them into a cohesive narrative and, in
a way, reenacting these journeys for an audience.
