[PhiladelphiaDANCE.org Listserv] Open Auditions for Úumbal in the 2019 Fringe Festival

FringeArts is seeking Philadelphia residents of all ages, backgrounds and
abilities who love to dance for *Úumbal: Nomadic Choreography for
Inhabitants*, a celebratory dance piece kicking off the 2019 Fringe
Festival in September.

*Úumbal* is an exercise in meeting, recognizing, and celebrating a
community gathered for the joy of movement, exploring new ways of moving
through public space. *Úumbal* is developed of, by, and for Philadelphia
residents with lead artist Mariana Arteaga to create a choreography that is
representative of a collective. The project consists of three stages,
culminating with *Úumbal* participants moving the choreography through the
streets of the Whitman neighborhood in South Philadelphia.

*Final Performances: *
Saturday, September 7th at 3pm
Friday, September 13th at 7pm
Saturday, September 14th at 3pm

*Information Session and Workshop Auditions:*
Tuesday, June 11, 6-8:30pm
Thursday, June 13, 6-8:30pm
*Additional dates to be announced!*

You can expect to rehearse for *Úumbal* twice a week on weekday evenings
from July to September. Exact times and locations TBA. Performers may not
miss more than two rehearsals.You do not have to have a dance background in
order to participate. Recommended for ages 13-75+.
