GYROTONIC® training is a series of circular and fluid exercises that works
the entire body through muscular, skeletal, and cardiovascular
stimulation.In this 4-class beginner series, you'll get an introduction to
the Gyrotonic Expansion System. Each class will start with the essential
motions of the spine, move into the basic hamstring series, then into the
beginning of the upper body series, and end standing. This unique machine

Pilates Reformer12 PM- 1 PM taught by Darcy LyonsHave you been wondering
how some of the Pilates apparatus works? Want to spice up your workout with
a new class? Our Beginner Reformer Series offers a way to enter the group
reformer classes without prior experience with Pilates. Our Reformer
classes have only 5 students per class. That means you'll get
individualized attention and a workout tailored to your needs for the full
hour. After the 4-week beginner series, you'll gain the fundamentals of the
Pilates method.Wednesdays 7 AM- 8 AM Pilates Mat All Levels with Katharine
(begins April 4th)Pilates Flow draws inspiration from the Classical Pilates
Mat and draws on the six fundamental principles of concentration, control,
center, flow, precision, and breathing. The class sequence is enhanced with
movements and stretches drawn from yoga and dance and incorporates the use
of small equipment including bands, balls and small weights. The class will
develop your strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and balance while
helping you develop awareness to your alignment and breath. A good workout
that will also leave you feeling energized and relaxed.Katharine Livingston
has over 25 year of teaching experience in Pilates and yoga. She has
studied a variety of movement modalities including Feldenkrais and The
Franklin Method which inform her Pilates teaching. Her personalized
approach includes integrating her client's goals with a system of exercises
and specific cueing designed to develop awareness and to achieve optimal

Workshop: GET ON THE BALL!!Sunday, April 15th 10 AM-11:15 AM- Pilates Ball
Workshop with DianeA 75-minute workshop using the big gym balls for a fun
and creative work-out.Sunday April 15, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:15AMCost is
wonder what to do with the big fitness balls you see around gyms and
studios? Join Diane McKallip for this lively and informative workshop. Come
prepared to move! We will use the ball as a prop to strengthen and stretch
the entire body. The balls can be used for balance training, core
development, and upper body strength. An outline will be provided, so you
can create your own ball workout for home or gym. This class is open to all
levels, but you must be able to sit on the ball without assistance.Class
size is limited, sign up in advance online or at Vitality Studio.Diane
McKallip recently relocated to Philadelphia after 40 years in the San
Francisco Bay Area. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, she moved to
California after college to form a dance company, The Performance Alliance.
She has performed over the years with many local dance companies. After
earning an MFA in Dance at Mills College, Diane became deeply involved in
the fitness movement of the 1980’s.This lead to a career in personal
training, Pilates, and body work. For 30 years, Diane owned and operated
her own personal training and Pilates studio, Integrated Pilates and
Wellness, in Oakland. She was, for almost 20 years, the Mind-Body Fitness
director at the Courthouse Athletic Club, also in Oakland.Diane loves
working with people of all ages and abilities and has a special focus in
working with older adults and with dancers of all ages. She teaches and
leads workshops around the country.Diane hold a BFA and an MA in dance and
is certified by ACE, ACSM, ITT Pilates, and the Pilates Method alliance,
among others.*
