Heather Cornell is one of the most innovative and deeply musical tap
artists working on the scene today. From 1985-2004, Heather Cornell
directed Manhattan Tap, one of the busiest and most successful tap dance
companies of the period. With her home base in New York, she worked with
some of the most famous jazz musicians in the world and pioneered an
approach to tap choreography that has been called "visual music."
Currently, she tours internationally mentoring students, teaching the
connections between tap dance and music, and headlining at tap and jazz
festivals around the world. In 2016, she released her first album, "Making
Music Dance," a collaboration of original music using tap shoes, violin,
balafon and guitar. www.manhattantap.org
