Join Merge Dance Studio, "Where Dance and Fitness Merge", in Manayunk for these upcoming workshops:
SHIFT Strength and Conditioning workshop with guest teacher Diana Jewell - Sat., Oct. 15th, from 3:30-5:00pm: SHIFT Strength and Conditioning works to improve dancers’ base fitness levels in order to increase their potential for stronger, more consistent, beautiful movement. This program targets the specific elements of fitness that are missing from traditional dance classes, creating well rounded dancers who are less prone to injury and better equipped to perform both in class and on stage. This workshop will show each dancer how to improve their base level of fitness, as well as to develop the strength and conditioning necessary to perform with confidence both in the studio and on stage, to reduce the occurrence of injury, to extend their career, and to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. By shifting the way that dancers train, we can begin to shift perceptions of how a dancer’s body can look and what a dancer’s body is truly capable of.

Swing dance workshop with guest teacher Genevieve Morris - Sat., Nov. 19th, from 3:30-5:00pm:This introduction to swing dance workshop will focus mostly on Jitterbug (6 count) swing dancing with some Charleston foot work. This class will teach you the fundamentals of rhythm, connection, turns and the basic dance steps. No partner is needed so come alone or with a friend. No experience is necessary. A good time is guaranteed!
