**Floor work, and improv, and smiles--oh my! Come play, explore, take risks, get low, get persnickety, and thoughtfully research your body's movement potential. Sense of humor and genuine interest are the only prerequisites. Contemporary technique material is geared toward the intermediate/advance level, but anyone is welcome to join. (Pants, kneepads, and long sleeves are a good idea.)
***Kate Seethaler is an improviser, choreographer, educator, performer, and semi-new Philadelphian. Her work moves from questions about the audience/performer relationship, the rapport between serious and silly, and utilizing improvisation to deepen realms of perception. Kate is currently collaborating with choreographers Meghan Frederick and Paige Phillips on two new separate works to be shown later this spring. She has most recently worked with choreographers Michael Figueroa, Stephanie Turner, Barbie Diewald, and Deborah Goffe. Kate has served on the faculties of Springfield College, School for Contemporary Dance & Thought, Aldrich Pilates, The Taft School, and Smith College. She earned an MFA in Dance from Smith, and a BA from Springfield College. In addition to teaching at Mascher Space Cooperative, Kate currently serves as the Membership/Rental Coordinator for Mascher, where she is also an artist-in-residence. In her spare time, she plays lovingly with her dog--Artie--and takes care of adorable, hilarious children that are not her own.
