This weekend on April 6 and 7 Pasion y Arte Artistic Director and
choreographer/dancer, Elba Hevia y Vaca, and Tina Plokarz of Vox Populi are
presenting *Marcando el Terreno — Flamenco and Feminism

at
Vox Populi, a weekend-long exploration into the art of Flamenco through the
lenses of feminism and womanhood.

Join us for the first showing of Ms. Hevia y Vaca's in-process performance
of her new work *La Bolivianita*, and the screening of award-winning
bio-documentary *Impulso *(2017) by Emilio Belmonte, featuring queer
feminist flamenco dancer and choreographer Rocίo Molina (Spain). *La
Bolivianita *explores Ms. Hevia y Vaca's lifelong artistic journey with
Flamenco and her Bolivian heritage, posing the question: Are we what we
inherit? Directed by revolutionary Flamenco artist, Belen Maya (Spain).

Performance of *La Bolivianita* + dialogue about race, identity and
improvisation practices in contemporary Flamenco
