Dalcroze Philly presents our second free workshop on Sunday, January 27,
from 2-5pm, in dance studio 224, Pearson Hall, Temple University. Our
presenter/facilitator will be Cynthia Lilley. The workshop welcomes
dancers, musicians/composers, arts therapists, arts educators and anyone
interested in exploring the music-movement relationship and deepening their
musicianship. Some basic music knowledge/literacy is helpful but not
required.

Cynthia Lilley has taught Dalcroze classes for children and adults over
many years; her lessons are known for their combination of depth and
accessibility. She is particularly interested in ways non-pianists can use
the Dalcroze approach in their teaching. In this workshop she will be
focusing on compound meter, 6/8, 9/8, and 12/8, incorporating pieces of
recorded classical music into her teaching. The workshop will culminate
with group choreographies of a fascinating piece by the contemporary
composer, Alfred Schnittke. Don't miss this opportunity to work with one
of our premiere Dalcroze teachers!

The workshop is free but pre-registration is required by sending an email
to Taish Bruton , Tue41207 at temple.edu
