Two days away!

Human Landscape Dance will perform Rituals of the First Year this
Saturday, July 12, from 12-2pm at Clark Park, 43rd-45th Baltimore-
Woodland, and this Sunday, July 13, from 1-3pm at Liberty Lands,
913-961 North 3rd St. We have received such encouraging notes from
you fine dancers out there and I can't wait to put names to faces!

The goal of Human Landscape Dance is to highlight the beauty of the
places in which we live. By making artwork that shows off those
places we pass everyday, Human Landscape Dance renews our
appreciation of them. Our dances serve as living sculptures, giving
shape to empty space, offering a human response to the natural world.

Rituals of the First Year reflects my experience as a new father. My
daughter Maya is eight months old and, as she grows, I learn more
about my role as a dad. One of the rituals that we practice in my
choreography is talking through touch, the primary means of
communication with a newborn. We go on to practice bonding and
separating, and carrying and falling. I hope that, watching, you will
be reminded of your own experience as a parent or child.

Tune into WHYY 91 FM this weekend to hear my interview with Alex
Schmidt.

I hope to see you!
