dance theatre X is holding a week long afro-contemporary workshop
from 10 am to 1pm, Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 at The Painted
Bride Arts Center, 230 Vine Street. We know this is short notice, but
we really thought it would be a great time to do it because of the
overwhelming recent interest and numerous requests to learn more
about afro-contemporary movement and about dance theatre X.

Workshop rates:

$40 for the entire workshop
$25 for three days of the workshop
$10 for one day of the workshop
*Checks can be made payable to dance theatre X.

This choreographic and performance intensive provides an opportunity
for intermediate and advanced dancers who are dedicated, disciplined,
and have a love of the art form, to immerse themselves in a
concentrated training session. Students take daily class with dtX
artistic director and 2007 Pew Fellow, Charles O. Anderson and long-
time company member and master teacher, Michael Velez (also formerly
of Koresh Dance Company). They have the opportunity to assist the
creation of dtX's newest work, World Headquarters, in a supportive
and professional atmosphere which will culminate in an in-studio
performance at the end of the week. Participation in this workshop
could lead to additional performance opportunities with dtX in the
2008/2009 performance season. Particpants interested in this
possibility should bring a cover letter, resume and headshot/dance
photo by the last day of the workshop, Friday, June 27th.
