Attention Philadelphia Dance Community!!!

Traves Butterworth artistic director of Butterworth Dance Company (BCD) in
San Diego, California will be teaching a Modern Master Class open to
Intermediate/Advanced Dancers here in Philadelphia!

When: Wednesday May 7th

Time: 10am-12pm

Take R7 Chestnut Hill East to Mount Airy Stop.  Walk ½ block to Germantown
Ave. Make Right and Walk ½ to New Covenant Campus 2nd Entrance on Left Side

Dance Theatre Sign/ Baird Hall sign.

Take R8 Chestnut Hill West to Allen Lane Stop.  Walk to Germantown Ave. (
WAWA on Left).  Make Left and Walk 2 blocks to New Covenant Campus 2nd
entrance on Left.  

About Traves Butterworth:

            Traves began dancing and performing during college.  After
completing his undergraduate work, he performed with Sonia Plumb Dance
Company, Bludance Theatre, Greensboro Ballet and High Point Ballet.  In 1999
upon completion of his MFA in Choreography at the University of North
Carolina-Greensboro, he founded the Butterworth Dance Company (BDC).  BDC
has performed throughout the US and in Mexico.  Butterworth’s unique and
authentic movement invention appeals to diverse audiences by combining
technical dance with human emotions and dynamics.  BDC’s choreography draws
much of it’s inspiration from Butterworth’s strong musicality.  Butterworth
has choreographed over 30 dance works during the past 6 years.  BDC has
performed by invitation at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, San Diego
State University and the Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, NY.

His class is a blend of technical and organic movement designed to
strengthen and expand the dancers’ performance quality.
