Perspective Dance Project IN MOTION: Dances by UArts Senior Dance Major
Katherine Richardson

A collaborative, interdisciplinary dance performance developed under the
direction of UArts Dance senior Katherine Richardson (photo below), the
production brings together the efforts of over 20 artists from 10
different departments at The University of the Arts. 

 

Pieces include Touch and Go, a curious and playful duet which
investigates the energy of light through interaction with lamps; Off
Guard, which takes a look at how we as individuals tend to not see the
variety of happenings on a day to day basis because we are trapped in a
world of routine; Portrait peels away the layers of a family whose
identity is wrapped up in a world of illusion for the sake of keeping
appearances; Wallflowers is a humorous look into the inner turmoil of
those who kept the bleachers warm at high school dances; Soliloquy
explores the inner monologue of a girl who poses a question and
struggles towards finding the resolution; and Scapes offers a passionate
and awe-inspired look into Ansel Adams' photography of the West. 

 

April 17 - 18, 6:30 p.m., April 19, 2 p.m., UArts Dance Theater at the
Drake (1512 Spruce Street; entrance on Hicks St.). Free and open to the
